Our second film for Community Cinema at Wickford Community Centre and Association will be another Walt Disney great, A Christmas Carol, featuring the voice talents of Jim Carrey, Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Robin Wright Penn and Bob Hoskins.  This is Robert Zemeckis’s animated re-telling of Charles Dickens’ classic novel.

Miserly Ebenezer Scrooge (Jim Carrey) thinks everything about Christmas is humbug!  Scrooge is visited by the ghost of his late business partner who warns him that he will be visited by three ghosts, Christmas past, present and future who take him on a journey through time – that is when the fun begins but not for poor old Scrooge.  Come and join us for some Christmas Spirit!

Arrive early and get a good seat or why not get the kids to bring a beanbag and let them sit on the floor at the front.

Doors open at 3:00pm with the film starting at 3:30pm

Food, Snacks and Drinks will be available to purchase on the day.

SUPPORTING WICKFORD FOOD BANK (THE GATEWAY PROJECT)
This month’s Community Cinema will be encouraging the support of the local food bank called the “Gateway Project” run by the Salvation Army and local churches. This project provides essential food and toiletries for those who are struggling or in crisis. Any cash donations provide gas and electric top-ups. We feel that this is a fantastic local charity as the most fundamental requirements for living are food and warmth.

All we ask is that when you attend the show, you bring along one or two spare items of food or toiletries, maybe even some spare change.
Food items include tinned soup, Baked beans/spaghetti, Pasta, Pasta sauces, breakfast cereals, dried rice, milk, tea bags/coffee, sugar, tinned meat, tinned fish, tinned tomatoes, tinned fruit/custard, jams, biscuits.  All donations are gratefully received – many thanks.
